Please note: 9 AM start time, as per popular demand expressed at the holiday party, during the cooler months we'll start at 9:00. Meeting today at The Mission.
We're going to do some off-season climbing (as much as there is an off-season in SB) including Gibraltar Rd and East Camino Cielo to the Romero Saddle (6.5 miles). We'll return to Gibraltar and proceed to enjoy the new road surface to the top of La Cumbre. The heartier of us will continue across the ridge and down Painted Cave/OSM, or...? There are options to shorten your ride or lengthen it as you wish.
Although there will likely be a group off the front intent on putting up a mark on their Strava, this will be a moderately paced ride with regroups at No Shooting, the Gib saddle, the end of ECC, Gib Saddle again, top of La Cumbre, then how about the top of the last climb before the final descent on CC (enjoying the fresh asphalt at Knapp's Castle), then at the water fountain on PC.
It'll be great weather for climbing, nice and cool, but possibly cold on top and on the descent. Bring a snack and plenty of water, the milage isn't great but it can be a four hour ride.
